Seed Library
The EMPL Seed Library is closed for the season, check back next year for our selection of seeds.
The East Meadow Public Library is pleased to be offering varieties of heirloom vegetable, herb and flower seeds to resident cardholders. East Meadow cardholders of all ages are welcome to choose up to 5 packets of seeds, 1 per variety, to grow in your home garden. Seed germination cannot be guaranteed by the library.

**If you find yourself with an excess of produce during the growing season, Island Harvest asks that you consider donating to one of their food pantries. Food pantry locations can be found here.

Seed Library Policy
- The EMPL Seed Library is available to East Meadow cardholders only
- Each cardholder may request 5 packets of seeds
- Cardholders are limited to one packet of each variety of seed (Tomato, Pepper, etc.)
- The Seed Library is first come first serve, while supplies last
- Seed germination cannot be guaranteed by the library

Where do I request seeds?
- Seeds can be requested from the Circulation Desk. It is first come first serve, as long as supplies last.
How many seed packets can I request?
- Each cardholder may request 5 seed packets, 1 per variety.
Am I required to return seeds?
- No! You are not required to return seeds to the library. We do encourage you to harvest seeds from your plants so you can grow your garden next year!
